Lady of the Week - Amanda Dominguez

Birthday - September 19

Family - Eddy is my husband, Macy Brynn is my 20 month old daughter, and I am expecting another daughter on May 22, 2012.

How long has your husband been a firefighter and how long serving with Cedar City?

Eddy is in the rookie class that began training in July.

How long have you been married?

3 years

Where did you grow up?

Cochise, Arizona

Do you have a favorite family tradition? If so, what is it?

I love baking sugar cookies at Christmas time. I also love driving around and looking at the lit up house at Christmas time.

What do you like to do when you have an hour to yourself?

I like to run. I like to lay in my hammock and listen to music.

How do you spend your Saturdays?

With my family doing whatever is going on that day. Saturdays are our only day that we get to sleep in, cook a pancake breakfast and enjoy whatever the day brings.

Do you work? If so, where and what is your title?

I work full time as a dog groomer at Tyners Grooming.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

I once fell on ice from a stand still. I wasn't walking or even moving. I was standing there talking then, BAM, I was on the ground. Not sure how that happened.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would go to Ireland because that's where my family is from. My great grandma came over on Ellis Island. I think it would be great to see my roots.

List some of your favorite movies.

Ever After, The Patriot, Taken, Lion King

List some of your favorite books.

I don't have time to read.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Anything with fudge ripples.

What types of things would someone find in your purse?

Chapstick, ductape, knife, wallet, business cards, assorted change floating around the bottom.

What is one thing about yourself that you want the ladies in the auxiliary to know?

I am 100% devoted to my family. Everything I do is for them. I strive with everything in me to be the best and most supportive wife and mother I can be.

Changes for the blog

I am the new blogger for the Ladies Auxiliary. I hope to start doing features on all of the ladies in the auxiliary. I really hope to do a new lady every week until I run out of people willing to participate. I will start with the new ladies or wives of the rookies because I should be able to get their information quickly. Or at least that is what my husband, who is in the rookie class, tells me. So please check back to see what changes happened at the November election and to see the new faces of the auxiliary. I am really excited to be doing this blog and hope it will benefit everyone.
